In addition to providing written text, ranging from travel features to technical writing on a variety of subjects, I can also provide translation from German to English in my areas of specialization, particularly
Photography and
Transportation (particularly railroads and related technology)
If you are interested in translation services, please contact me with a description of the project you have in mind.
In general, I charge for translation services on the same basis as for consulting services, using time and expenses. You may want to read my description of consulting services before asking for a quotation on a project.
I will also consider negotiating a specific figure for an entire project -- but only if the total scope of the project is known ahead of time, such as when the total German text is available. In the latter case the difficulty of the project will be factored into the fee, with highly technical material requiring a higher fee.
Please note that while I will consider material other than the two subject areas of photography and transportation, I do not encourage that type of translation work.
For both photography and transportation, in addition to being familiar with the general subject matter, I have English, German, and multilingual reference works which will support translation work.
I am not interested in and will not undertake translation from English to German.
