My Telephone and Fax Numbers Have Changed; Please Update Your Records with the New Data
Due to a move to a new location, I now have new telephone and fax numbers, as shown below. This move provides more space for my business and many other advantages. However, my post office box and electronic mail addresses will remain the same.
New numbers, effective June 29, 1998 |
|
Voice |
(919) 401-9480 |
Fax |
(919) 402-0721 |
The new location will not only provide more space for my growing stock collectioncurrently in the range of 40,000 imagesbut will also allow better organization of the large volume of reference materials (on railroads and other transportation subjects and on North Carolina and Virginia) which back up my stock collection.
I realize many of you may have my promotional material, including sheets with color images and subject lists, on file. Unfortunately, logistics prevent me from immediately replacing all of this material with new copies with the new telephone numbers.
As this material is normally sent out in stapled packages of multiple sheets, I would suggest that you at least correct the telephone numbers on the top sheet. New promotional material sent out in the future will, of course, have the updated information.
I regret any inconvenience this change may cause for you. However, after some 25 years in an apartmentin fact the same apartment, with the same telephone numberthe move to a house will provide many advantages.
(A few years ago, I moved my business post office box to a more convenient post office after a variety of problems with the previous post office. Again, this mailing address remains the same and should continue for the foreseeable future.)
| Street Address Change |
Though the Post Office Box address at the top of this newsletter remains my preferred mailing address, you may also need to return material to me by courier services, such as FedEx or Airborne. For such shipments, you will also need to update my street address:
| Ernest H.
Robl 2215 Elmwood Ave. Durham, NC 27707 |
Please use this address only for courier deliveries and not for routine correspondence.
Some of you may find that this street address is already in your records. For FedEx shipments made within the last few weeks, I have already used the Elmwood Ave. address as the return address, as there was someone already at that address who would accept packages for me.

My Web site (http://www.robl.w1.com) continues to grow. It's at the same location in cyberspace where it's always beenand will continue at that location.
Recent additions include more North Carolina, Virginia, and transportation-related images.
You'll also find the latest versions of the texts of all my subject lists and policy sheets available online. Back issues of this newsletter are also available.
Look for new images on the site in mid July.
| North Carolina Coverage Updates Continue; Add Diversity to Collection |
As reported in the two previous newsletters, Im working to assure that my already extensive coverage of North Carolina remains up to date.
New and updated subjects from the past year (some mentioned in the last newsletter) include:
Other recent photos come from Rocky Mount, Apex and several locations in South Carolina.
Additional photos from the Asheville area are currently at the top of the priority list and should be available shortly after you receive this newsletter.

Two examples of recent stock photo sales (a very abbreviated list due to limited space):
| Plans for 1998-1999 |
The systematic update of N.C. stock coverage is continuing
I also plan another trip to the Powder River Basin of Wyoming within the next year as part of my project documenting railroads in that area.
| Miscellany |
To get the main mailing of this edition of the newsletter out as quickly as possible, I'm not including any images in this newsletter. As noted on the previous page, you can, of course, find many sample images on my Web site.
Until next time, Ernest
