010480 Golden Spike National Historic Site, Promontory, Utah. This is one of two replica locomotives used to re-enact the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad at the remote site on the north side of the Great Salt Lake. The site, administered by the National Park Service, features the steamed-up locomotives May-September. This locomotive represents the "Jupiter," Central Pacific's contribution to the Golden Spike ceremony which took place on May 10, 1869.
