700025 Life wasn't always totally serious in Vietnam. This gag shot of members of the U.S. Army 24th Public Information Detachment, part of 24th Corps Headquarters, was made at Camp Hochmuth, Phu Bai, Vietnam, in early 1970 before our unit moved south to DaNang.

From left to right: Terry Shonkwiler, Tom Williams, Paul Glasgow (with a fake bandage on his head), Ernest Robl (me, with all the cameras), and, in the background, Acel Fisher brushing his teeth at our water supply. On the table, Ruthie the dog.

The reddish building in the background was the Phu Bai Press Club, which served civilian and military correspondents. I lived in one of the huts at right.
