700228 U.S. Marine Corps combat artists at work at the Da Nang Press Center, Da Nang, Vietnam, in early 1970. These marines went out into the field with Marine Corps units where they made sketches and photographs. Back at their base, these images were turned into paintings which were shipped to Marine Corps and Department of Defense installations, including the Pentagon. This painting depicts a heavily loaded-down Marine taking a break during a field operation.
