991129 Firemen and paramedics practice extrication of an injured railroad crew member from the cab of a diesel locomotive. For many types of locomotives, the only way to remove an immobilized person on a backboard is through the cab window. This exercise took place at a Burlington Northern Santa Fe facility (Big Lift) south of Denver, Colo., under the sponsorship of the Colorado Operation Lifesaver Chapter.
