031248 In this section of the model scene, a long-wheelbase hi-rail Unimog has just assisted in pushing a historic locomotive onto a highway transport trailer. The locomotive, a Lilliput model, will ultimately be replaced by a small track machine being readied for transport. The Unimog model is from a Kibri kit. The trailer is an older Wiking model that has been repainted. The tow vehicle for the trailer is a Herpa model.

This spur track set into pavement could also be used for placing hi-rail equipment on or off the rails and for transferring various supplies between railcars and trucks. The pavement sections and track inserts are from the Walthers street system line. This section will receive additional landscaping, including ballast for track and a fence at the outer perimeter of the industry.

The Bahnbau Robl (Railroad Construction Robl) project is an attempt to depict the home base of a fictional European railroad construction contractor. (I model primarily Austrian prototype in HO scale.) For an introductory page with an overview of the project, follow this link.
