791543 Class 52 locomotive 52.7612 leaving St. Pölten, Austria, with an excursion train of historic coaches. These 2-10-0 locomotives were built in large numbers during WW II by Germany, with some remaining in Austria at the end of the war. Because of their simple design, they were easy to maintain and stayed in revenue service until the official end of steam operations in the mid 1970s. The tender contains a conductor's cabin, making the engine usable in freight service without having to add a special car for the conductor.
