980092 What was to become the Lynx South Corridor light rail line showed little but some distant promise back in 1998. Only fragments of the former freight rail line remained, though the corridor was largely intact. Here a section of rail (at right) ended ignominiously in the parking lot of a downtown hotel.

070561 Today, this section of the corridor has new double-track rail on concrete ties. This is a view at the same location from a northbound Lynx light rail train (photo made through the train's tinted windows).
