011722 Plaque marking the one-time residence of Joseph Mohr, an assistant pastor and the co-author (he supplied the text, basing it on a poem he had written earlier) of "Silent Night, Holy Night." The building is on what is now Silent Night Square in Oberndorf, Austria. The Christmas Hymn was first performed in Oberndorf. Despite cold wintry weather which has left a cap of snow on the lantern, the windows are open so that Christmas music can be heard from the loudspeakers inside the room.
