051008 Center for National Response (CNR) in West Virginia. The CNR is a federal facility that uses the abandoned Memorial Tunnel for training civilian and military emergency responders to deal with actual or suspected weapons of mass destruction (WMD) incidents, particularly with search and rescue in confined spaces such as tunnels. The Memorial Tunnel was once part of the West Virginia Turnpike. This is the sealed off tunnel entrance with vehicles from a military team that is training in the tunnel.

The tunnel became redundant when the route was four-laned on a slightly different alignment and turned into an Interstate highway.
