030296 Move of the Hamlet, N.C., railroad station on April 4, 2003. The station was moved from an area surrounded by active tracks to a location where it has better access and is closer to Hamlet's downtown area. After restoration work is completed, the station will again serve railroad passengers. The landmark depot will also contain historic displays. At this point the station is crossing the CSX Charlotte-Wilmington main line, which has been closed to traffic for the move.
