030693 Container crane operator at the North Carolina State Port, Wilmington, N.C. The crane operator is lifting import containers from the hold of a vessel.

The vessel being unloaded is the Delaware Bridge from the K-line (Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha), a Japanese firm. However, due to vessel sharing agreements with other container lines, many of the containers on this vessel belong to other container lines.

The Delaware Bridge provides service between North Carolina and ports in the Far East, traveling through the Panama Canal. At Wilmington, the vessel handles both import and export containers.
