030723 Container being lifted from a "well" position below decks on a container ship calling at the North Carolina State Port at Wilmington, N.C. The crane operator's cab is visible at top center. The trailer on which the container will be placed is just pulling into position on the dock at bottom right.
The vessel being unloaded is the Delaware Bridge from the K-line (Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha), a Japanese firm. However, due to vessel sharing agreements with other container lines, many of the containers on this vessel belong to other container lines.
The Delaware Bridge provides service between North Carolina and ports in the Far East, traveling through the Panama Canal. At Wilmington, the vessel handles both import and export containers.
