051296 Reenactors at Duke Homestead State Historic Site, Durham, N.C. This site was the home of the Duke family which built a tobacco empire in the South, following the Civil War. That family later also later provided the grants that started Duke University.
During special events several times a year, reenactors of all ages help show what life was like in the late 1800s.
