• Added new North Carolina Railroad Co. Corridor page focusing on the state-owned rail corridor from Morehead City, through Raleigh, Durham, and Greensboro to Charlotte and its importance to transportation within the state. Some of these images were previously featured on my Recent Images pages.

2001/06/11 MAJOR UPDATE

(Some of the changes below were implemented prior to the above date.)

• Added new images to the Recent images page from my May, 2001, trip to Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. These images include both transportation subjects (heavy and light rail) and travel subjects, such as the Golden Spike National Historic Site. (These are just samples from a large number of images produced on the trip.)
• Split the Recent images page to provide a separate page for featured images prior to 2000.
• Changed featured image on home page. (Again, this is a sample of a large number of Amtrak on-board photos produced during the trip.

• Because some visitors to this site who use flat-panel LCD displays, including those on laptop computers, had reported that they found the "Marble" background distracting, particularly on pages with substantial text, I have begun changing the backgrounds on various pages to either solid colors or a softer pattern. The first area completely updated is the Business section. Other areas will be updated as time permits or as revisions are made in a particular area.

2000/03/02 MAJOR UPDATE

• Created new Powder River Basin thumbnail page, consolidating access to a range of images related to this area. Some images were previously available through other thumbnail pages (and remain accessible from those locations). Other have been added to show the range of coverage for this area. New image pages with larger versions of the newly added images were also added.
• The above Powder River Basin page also includes a link to the announcement of my forthcoming Powder River Basin railroad guide. Publication of this book is scheduled for mid April, 2000.
• In conjunction with the above guide, I have provided a retail order form page to simplify direct ordering of books. While I cannot offer on-line ordering, this form can be printed out and quickly filled in, negating any need for writing a letter.
